Hans Christian Andersen

Hans Christian Andersen was born on the 2nd of April 1805 in Odense. He was a famous Danish writer and poet. His father's name was Hans Andersen and his mother's name was Anne Marie. He was the person who created characters such as “Girl with matches”, “Ugly Duckling”. People all over the world, young and old, still read his popular fairy tales.
At the age of fourteen, Andersen went to Copenhagen. In 1820-1821 he attended Ballet School in Copenhagen. He tried to act in the theatre.
First, Hans Christian Andersen created fairy tales. Afterwards, he created stories and poems.
Hans Christian Andersen died in 1875 at the age of 70. After his death, people still read his stories, poems and fairy tales.
